New Years

So I've never really been one to make New Years resolutions. I'm not sure why but I just never have. This year though, I have made a goal that I hope I will work on throughout the whole year (and not just through the month of January). I thought it would be a good idea to write about it on my blog so that hopefully I would continue to have motivation with it.

This year, my goal is to make dinner every night. This may not seem like that big of a goal but for me it will be. We normally eat some sort of "dinner" each night after Cameron and I both get home from work but it usually isn't very healthy, filling or yummy.

I created a Google Calendar where I will plan meals for a month at a time. This way, we already have the meals planned for each night and there won't be any "What are we having for dinner" questions. Plus, Cameron and I can both look at it and make changes to it if we need to. I actually started this last week and I am loving it! I just hope I feel as excited about it in August as I do today!

So if any of you have any yummy, easy meal ideas shoot them my way (aswenson5@gmail.com)! I would love to try new recipes.

5 months old!

I can't believe that it has already been 5 months since our little guy has come into our lives. We are so grateful for him!

Sitting up all by himself!

Some things I want to remember about Max at 5 months old:
-He is wearing size 0-3 month and 3-6 month clothes. The 0-3 month clothes are getting a little small (lengthwise) so we usually put him in 3-6 month clothes even though they are a little big.
-He wears size 2 diapers
-He is either really happy or really grumpy. He is never just content to sit on his own. He always has to have something to do, play with, or someone to entertain him.
-He still throws up a lot, all day long (especially when we put him in his car seat). We just started him on soy formula this week to see if he might possibly have a milk allergy. So far he has been doing great on it. I hope this pattern continues! It is nice not to have vomit everywhere!
-He still takes Zantac every morning and evening and he now takes Carafate along with the Zantac 4 times a day to help with his reflux and colic problems. He loves the taste of his cherry Carafate but he doesn't like the peppermint Zantac.
-He loves to talk (yell) all the time. He always has to be heard!
-Church is very hard for Max. He doesn't sleep well unless he is in his crib so he always gets really grumpy because he is so tired and then he starts screaming so much that we can't even calm him down (and I get so embarrassed) so we end up leaving. I hope he grows out of this soon because it would be nice to take the Sacrament soon (we have Sacrament meeting last).
-He is very busy for a little boy who can't really go anywhere. He gets bored of playing with the same toy after about 10 minutes and he wants something else.
-He started sitting up by himself a couple weeks ago! He is getting better at it each day and is able to sit up for longer periods of time. It is so cute!
-He still sleeps really well at night. He normally goes to sleep between 7:00 and 8:00 and sleeps until about 5:00 or 5:30. He still falls asleep in his crib by himself. Well, as long as Cameron and I put him on his tummy and pat his bum. We turn on the music from his baby monitor and he normally fall asleep within a couple of minutes.
-He loves to be thrown and rough housed. Cameron loves that he is tough. We can get him laughing really hard when we toss him up in the air.
-He still doesn't like binkies. The only time he will take one is when he goes to sleep and he doesn't always want one then.
-He doesn't really have a set nap time/length of nap but he normally take 2-3 naps a day that last between 1 and 3 hours.
-He loves to get his diaper changed and his clothes taken off. Right when I start talking his clothes or diaper off, he just start laughing and smiling like crazy.
-He still always have to be standing up or sitting down. He hates to lay down and be cuddled like a little baby. He thinks that he is such a big boy. I wish that he liked to cuddle but he is too busy to just relax and lay down.
-He likes to feel the hair on his head when he is eating a bottle. It cracks me up.

We love our little Max so much and love to see him change and grow each day!

Thanksgiving

I'm a horrible blogger, I know. Obviously a lot has changed since my last update. Max was born this summer and is already almost 5 months old! It is so fun to see him learn new things every day but so sad that he is growing up so fast.

Before we ate Thanksgiving dinner, we did a little "photo shoot" outside. Max was super grumpy (and wouldn't cooperate) so we didn't get any good pictures of all three of us but this was the best one. Maybe we'll get a good one of all three of us soon!

Well, there's a quick update of what we have been up to. Hopefully I will be back to update again soon! :)

We hung out with our friend's Ben and Jo last Friday. We haven't seen them in such a long time so it was so fun to finally get together with them. They live in Brigham City so it is sometimes hard to find a time to hang out. We went to Cafe Rio and ate dinner and then Jo and I messed around with our cameras and were taking a ton of pictures. We were being really goofy and it was so much fun!

Pear Pickin'

After we went bowling on Labor Day, we went over to Grandma Breinholt's house and picked some of the pears from her tree. When we had picked pretty much all the ones close to the bottom of the tree, Cameron decided that he wanted to climb the tree the get the good ones at the top. Cameron's mom was worried about how high he was. I just thought it was funny that he was willing to climb the tree just to get a few more pears....Oh well, it was fun to watch him.

Labor Day

I finally decided to update my blog with some stuff Cameron and I have been doing! We had a great time bowling with Cameron's family (and a couple of our friends) on Labor Day. I think it is so fun to get together with the whole family and do fun stuff like this! My high score was 97 and Cameron's was 148...I think he beat me by a few points! Oh well....I know I'm not that good but I still had a blast!

I was very impressed with Mike being able to hold Cannon and bowl at the same time!

Bee's Game

On August 10th, some of our friends from our ward, Colt and Camille, invited us to go to a Bee's game with them. Camille gets free tickets from her work all the time. It was so much fun to hang out with them at the game. We had great seats, so that was cool too!

Tour of Conference Center

Back in July, Bowen, Jamie, Cameron and I decided that for FHE we were going to go downtown and take a tour around the Conference Center. Bowen hadn't ever been so it was a lot of fun. We had such a great time hanging out with Bowen and Jamie. We went to Iceberg after the tour and got some ice cream. It was really yummy!

Anniversary Getaway!

Last Saturday, the first of August, Cameron and I celebrated our first year of marriage! I can't believe that a year has already gone by! Time just flies! We decided to go up to Snowbird on Saturday and stay the night. We got a package online where we were able to get a room and each have an unlimited pass to all the activities up there. We were both really excited to go away for a couple of days together.

We rode the tram up the mountain and this was the view from the top. Very pretty!

I am really so grateful for Cameron and the relationship that we have. I am so excited to have many more anniversaries with him throughout our lives together. We love spending time together whether it is just watching a movie in bed or going out with our friends we are always having fun! He is my best friend and I love him! We drive each other crazy sometimes (mostly on purpose) but I wouldn't change anything! He makes me so happy and I can't imagine my life with out him.

Pioneer Day Festivities!

We had such a fun Pioneer day! Cameron and I pretty much relaxed all morning which was really nice! We went over to Cameron's parents house for a family BBQ for lunch which was a lot of fun. We also had another BBQ at our house that night with our good friends Jamie and Bowen. We had such a great time with them. After dinner, we headed over to Liberty Park to watch the fireworks. It was a lot of fun.

We went back to our house after the fireworks and shot some of ours off. By the end of the night, Cameron and Bowen were scaring Jamie and I. They kept tying multiple fireworks together and lighting them all. Sparks were flying everywhere!

4th of July!

Cameron and I had such a fun 4th! Each year, Cameron's family watches the fireworks at Granite High School on the 3rd. It was really nice because we were able to just walk down the street and sit in his Grandma's front yard to watch them. We invited our friends, Jamie and Bowen, to come. We were so happy that they came. We love to hang out with them.

On the 4th, we went out to lunch with Jamie and Bowen and then we all went to see Transformers. We all thought it was a great movie. After the movie, we went to the Sandy Parade with Cameron's family and then we had a BBQ after. It was so much fun!

Camping & Nutty Putty Cave

A couple of weekends ago, Cameron and I went camping with a few friends. We were really excited because this was our first time camping together. We also went through the Nutty Putty cave which was really fun and muddy. I haven't been through it since high school so I was excited to go.

Memorial Day!

So I know that this is late but....better late then never right? Well Cameron and I had a really fun Memorial Day. My family has a tradition of going to my grandpa's grave on Sunday so that is when our fun started. We enjoyed being up at the Salt Lake Cemetery with my family that evening. On Monday morning we went with Cameron's family to see the graves. It was such a beautiful day. After the graves, we went to lunch at Chuck-A-Rama and I ate all that I could eat (which isn't much). Later that afternoon, we went mini golfing with some of Cameron's extended family. It was a blast! I even got a hole in 1!

Suzanne's Graduation & Mother's Day

My sister graduated from the University of Utah on May 8th. She graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting and a Bachelors in Information Systems. I was really excited for her. She has worked way hard for this.

Cameron and I had a great Mother's Day. Early that morning, we found out that Cameron's mom wasn't planning on making or eating anything really big for dinner. We felt bad because she always does so much for us and always makes us really yummy dinners. I decided that we should make her dinner to show our appreciation for her. We took over a delicious casserole and Patty's favorite rolls that I make. She was really excited and touched that we did that for her. We had a great time with Cameron's family. After that, we went over to my parents house. My brother is on a mission in Washington so we were able to get my family all together and talk to him. It was really good to hear from him and here some of his cool stories. He is having a great time on his mission. It is hard to believe that he will be home in February!

Little America Dinner

Each year, my family has a tradition to go to Little America, at the beginning of May, to celebrate my Dad's, Grandma's and Aunt's birthdays because they all fall within 2 days of each other. It was a blast to have everyone there and to eat a great dinner together.

Today is my cute grandma's birthday! She turned 86 today. She is such a sweet lady and I am so lucky to have her in my life.

We also celebrated my sister-in-laws birthday today even though her birthday isn't until tomorrow. It was a blast to have family dinner together and to watch her open her presents.
